This year will mark Col Claude Sinclair's
14th straight year of attending the Battle of Secessionville.
Claude has studied the battle and even has
the original Scott's 11 and 111 that Major A. B. Watson of the 8th Mich used while he was in the Charleston area. Major Watson even had
sketchings of drill and the coast. Major Watson had his horse shot
out from under him and he still made it to the top of the works. Of
Claude's 12 years with the Palmetto Battalion he has been a
staff member of the Palmetto Battalion for 8 of those years.
Claude has studied drill and offensive maneuvers. He actually
likes reading the drill manuals and perfecting movements.
Claude had several Confederate ancestors that were in the
Battle of Secessionville. The Federal troops are sure to look
impressive under the guidance of Col Claude Sinclair.
